Birthday Outfit!
So it's my Birthday on Thursday, and I'm so excited! I can't wait for all the lovely presents, and it happens to be student night, so I can go out and get drunk! Yayyy! Expect there to be drunk pictures up lol. So I've got 2 options, I'm going to wear my black bodycon dress, hot pink shoes and my little black jacket. Or my H&M blazer with all the sequins and stuff on, and my black bodycon, and hot pink shoes... My shoes all need re-heeling, and I don't have time to go find a new dress. Depressing!

Outfit of the Day...
This isn't really outfit of the day, it's more outfit that I wore today. But that doesn't sound nearly as snazzy. So I've been shopping and brought a Revlon Lipstick, Nail polish and liquid Eye-liner, so expect reviews to be coming up for those! I've also seen a bag I adore in TK Maxx but I don't think I'll get since I'm trying to be more sensible now with my money and sadly I don't think I'll have very many places to take it too, it's more of a holiday go clubbing type bag that is gorgeous! It's a coral colour with that caged metal lattice affect that bags had in December and is gold, it sounds awfully but is so bright and heart warming you can't help but think of Summer! So here's what I wore today, I just wore my skater dress from River Island which is far too low and so I put on a black cami underneath that happens to have a lovely higher lace part and actually worked really well, a thin black belt, black tights and my black boots again. Need to get new boots! Oh and that's my RI Jacket which you've probably seen me wearing before and I really liked these badges that I found on one of my other jackets and thought they were really cute though I've lost my favourite one a while ago, very sad! But I find that badges are the quickest and easiest way to update a jacket and can help give a hint to the style that you want to be as well! I.e. little sailor badges for a nautical feel!

Yippee!
Been at work all day, and it wasn't too bad today, we had chocolate behind the till and they are now significantly down. I have also discovered Ebay... I love it! It combines my competitiveness with my love of shopping! Total heaven! and you can get some absolute bargains on there! I absolutely can't wait to verify my Paypal and such, and start selling on their and buying more stuff. For now my poor boyfriend is footing the bill, it's a good thing he loves me!
I'm also working on a new project, I found a jacket pattern that I really love and so I'm going to find some pinstriped material, navy and white I think, and make it into a beautiful jacket hopefully! But I'm still trying to find some fabric for now, so it's a bit of a pain, I might wait till I'm next paid and go on a hunt, since my bank account is currently suffering a little....
I've also brought new shoes and a top, I think my mother might kill me!
I'm also going to start up my Etsy business again soon and am going to sell on E-bay as well, starting with all the jewellery that I don't want or wear I think, but mainly for little vintage pieces since I know a lovely antique shop in Ely where you can by some lovely jewellery and think it might be fun to get the train to their once a month, but I'll have to see for now.

Sorry I've not been on lately!
Excuse my lack of activity, I went into full throttle and had to get through so much! I've been exhausted! But can't stop now, I've got my interview for Coventry on Saturday. I think Falmouth one went well but won't know till the end of next week roughly. I've got to dash off for a driving lesson, but I'll come back and tell you all about it and take a picture of what I made, and my next project is a blazer/jacket!
Got my new course tonight for dressmaking, the bit of paper they sent said skirt, but i thought we were making a shirt, confusing! so I'm going to take my old skirt and finish that off, and everything else as well, so that I can start a new project if so, but I really want to make a new thing! nevermind
xoxo! Also, who saw in Vogue that embellishment is in?! I'm SO! on that train! Eeeek!

My Fashionably boring day....
I've had a fairly boring day sadly, I spent last night up again, because I couldn't sleep, my school would love it since all my work will be in on time at this rate. I started the dress... it's not going well, it's a McCalls pattern, and looks lovely and is going well, only I've to match the check up, and it's just a very fiddly pattern! However! I will be making this jacket next, and I'm so excited! These patterns were my mothers, since she used to make herself clothes as well, but these 4 I love, and I really want to make the YSL and Ralph Lauren jackets, but in really fun patterns or something!
I've also got these shirts to use to design with, I think I'm going to use the one with the black strip down the front and the black cuffs, but I love these Shirts! I'm going to obviously do my design on the front, and I'm going to change a couple of the buttons to coloured ones I think. The shirt is top secret for now as well as the dress! On the days of the Interviews I'm going to do it so my blog will post pictures then! Keep it a little bit exciting for you as well!
Today I've been to Waitrose and not done much else, but here's what I wore, I wore a black jumper from Riverisland, that I got for Christmas, I think the Squirrel is ever so cute and the jumpers actually really nice! I've brought so much stuff from RiverIsland, I'm waiting on 2 hats and a Dress, but I think the dress might go back, I'm not sure yet! Need to stop being an Impulse buyer! The jacket is also from RiverIsland, and my New Look jeans and Dorothy Perkins zip boots. There's also another picture I found on my Camera and I'm not sure if you've seen it before or not, but I thought you may aswell!

On the Tenth Day of Christmas...

I love this jacket by Hobbs of London, I saw a girl recently with one of these on, with grey leggings and green traditional wellies, and she just looked rather chic, I was a little jealous since one of these would make me look like a farmer instead, but I think if you're tall and slim these look great on! Sort of an effortless country estate chic!

work at 8:30?! On a Sunday?!
I hate how society has become a machine to itself! We love our luxury! We love it when we don't have to work for it just the money to buy it. Ever thought how it got there?! When you go into a shop, how neatly is it laid out? Who picks the clothes up when some awful child throws them on the floor? Or fetches you're size, or does anything. Well it got there somehow. Everything got to where it is somehow, and for the most part it's because of somebody. So today take the time out just to say have a nice day, or something pleasant to someone. Because they will have worked hard to make it look like that. Like being up at 8:30 to get a store ready that doesn't open till 10 ><><
Also had lots of fun in Cambridge yesterday, only brought the jacket I showed you yesterday but had a really nice time except it being cold and VERY foggy!
Also the blogger thing is still old style, anyone know why?! Cause it's really bugging me cause it's putting all of my pictures at the top not in my text! Gahh!

Cambridge!
So went to Cambridge today and almost froze! I've brought a Jacket from H&M that I saw in Vogue that morning, so I'm really pleased I read Vogue before I went! It's a really pretty classic shape!

Sorry for the appalling lay out something is really funny with the editing on blogger, I'm not too sure why but it's gone all old style! Which has totally thrown me.
But I got that and that was it really.
I have given into the jegging thing though. I was utterly against them but I've brought a pair just to throw on in the morning when I'm running late, and they'd be more suitable for some footwear but under all circumstances will long tops be worn with them! That's it for now because the old way of doing this has totally thrown me till tomorrow morning!
xoxo!

| Andy T - lookbook.nu Showing us how to mix Vintage with new styles and other items. |
She discovered Etsy while searching for jewlery and accessories for her wedding.(Hand made items and blissful weddings do go hand in hand for unique Jewellery for you're once in a life time day!) She was very impressed by the skill and talent of the vendors and bought several pieces that She wore on her wedding day including a necklace, shrug and clutch. Her wedding dress was her mother's, though altered to fit her specifications and season (her mother got married in the fall, she got married outdoors in the summer). Shortly after her wedding in July, she quit her job to go back to school full time. She was in the process of searching for a part-time job when she saw a vintage suit in a shop window that reminded her so much of the clothes her mother had worn and passed down to her and her sisters. This inspired her to start her own vintage shop on etsy, selling mostly 1960s and 70s clothing like her mother's. She has always been facinated with fashion and if she hadn't chosen to study an academic field, she likes to think she would have gone into the business. She started her shop mid-September and has been working hard collecting, listing and promoting her vintage pieces ever since and she has an amazing collection with currently 49 listed items. she chooses unique items that can be worked into outfits today, giving a good mix of Vintage and new. It's inspiring that she just quit her job and was inspired by something she saw and has done so well at it!
Me: How long have you handmade things?
Diane: I've been collecting and wearing vintage clothing since I was a kid.
Me: Where do you work from? Office space, the lounge, outside?

Diane: I work out of my apartment.
Me: How did you get into hand making stuff?
Me: How did you get into hand making stuff?
Diane: My mother passed down some of her loud 1970s clothing to my sisters and I. We also often went to thrift stores and I loved the thrill of finding wonderful, unique items. I love history (I majored in it in college) and I think that translates into me being drawn to items with history.
Me: Were you brilliant first off, or did it take a few attempts?
Me: Were you brilliant first off, or did it take a few attempts?
Diane: I've gotten a lot of compliments on my items but sales are still slow since I am new to Etsy.
Me: What led you to creating your own business?
Diane: I recently left my job of three years to pursue a Masters degree full time. I had been searching for part time jobs with no luck when I saw a vintage suit in a shop window that reminded me so much of my mom's vintage clothing. I was inspired to start a shop selling similar items.
Me: Do you think it’s been worth it?
