Festival Photography

So the Glastonbury festival starts today, so I thought it would be fitting that I put up some festival photo's that I found just to get you going a little and in the mood! Festivals seem to be a very British thing because it always rains and somehow everyone is always smiling in the pictures and actually look like they're enjoying themselves!
The above were found at DanielKennedy.com

Vintage Summer Photography

So here again is some beautiful vintage summer photography just to give you a little inspiration and because these things are always so nice to look at. Hopefully they'll help you think of some new ways to wear your clothes instead of just going and buying new ones, because I'm beginning to think that that is how IT girls and models and people that always look good do it!

Shopping and new hair!

So I've been shopping today which is always a sin! I'm now broke! Oh well.... So I brought a satchel bag from Primark for £9.00 just to take shopping with me and such since I was desperate for one and didn't want to wait! So here it is, there is a lovely navy and brown one that I might get as well, and a just plain brown one but I thought this one was a little more versatile and summery because of the colours.

I also went and had my hair cut and I've been debating for a while now to have my hair dyed red... like 2, 3 years? so quite a while. I saw this and absolutely loved the colour and I thought if I have it done now and don't like it at least it will be out in time for university, so Tuesday my hair will be going to this colour! Any tips for keeping red hair red? Since it's notorious for being hard to do!

Beach wear perfect for the summer!

So I'm currently looking forward to going to the beach or to Sandringham, and don't worry there'll be lots of pictures! So I thought I'd best post some useful items and such up!
Debenhams
Weekend bag
£29.50
So first off is this gorgeous chic weekend bag by Floozie! The colours are so bright and summery I couldn't help fall in love with it when I saw it! It's also got  a really helpful across body strap which I like, because I find this sort of bag useful for my night course or something or as a bag for school. It's a very pretty bag!

I also really love this bikini, it goes super well with this bag and I think it might make boobs look a bit bigger too honestly! But the colour is sickly sweet which is great for the beach, and the top is so nice! Definitely perfect for laying around the beach in. Might actually get this one because it is so nice, the bottoms are just right too, if they had any detail on I think together it would all be too much but I think this bikini is great for attracting away from legs and tummy if that's a problem that you have like mee! River Island is also definitely the place to look for bikini's and cut out swimming costumes, they have lots unlike other places who for some reason have given up believing in summer!
£25.98, is what all of this all together costs which I don't think is too bad! They also do it in Yellow.

These cases by Accessorize are also great for the beach! They're hard cases and will stop your sunglasses getting broken, since for some reason all mine tend to get broken on the beach but these keep them nice and secure. It's only £6.00 too which makes it a great bargain! These sunglasses are also from Accessorize for only £14.00!

A Citrus Guide!

So obviously I'm getting into the full swing of Spring and Summer! and what is more summery than Citrus colours?! So here is an entire post dedicated to Lemon Yellow, Obscene Orange, and Lively Lime! (will make up better names next time she promises!)

Here is also a quick D.I.Y. for the Yellow Purse by Zara,  from StyleScrapbook by Andy. It looks really simple to do and hers turned out really nicely!

Bright as the sun Shoes!

Bright colours are really in this year as everyone may have noticed. I'm more of a bright shoe person that a bright dress person for some reason, so here are some of my favourite bright shoes that I've managed to find since honestly there are less than what I hoped for!

Urban, Modern shoes, that anyone can wear!

I really love the shoes that models wear with the unique heel! however they are not practical, the first uneven paving those see and your doomed! heaven forbid that it's down hill! I've been on Aldo's website and actually found a couple and thought I'd show you!
Asos - Miss L-Fire.
£100.00
These ones gave me a little giggle! Remember on bikes they used to have little baskets weaved like the heels of these shoes? What lovely memories. How very summery and girly they are!
Asos
£65.00
These are very nautical and the thing that makes these is definitely that front platform heel. The wood effect is beautiful. But the shape that that cut out section makes is outstanding! I actually have fallen in love with these!
Asos
£65.00
The perspex heel is amazing. It reminds me of when your swimming under water and look up and it looks so blue and around you it looks clear. I just imagine a little fishy somewhere in that heel. These are my second love and I'm honestly contemplating buying them, I think the art that they hold is just too nice to pass up.

Aldo
£65.00
"Inspired from the groovy seventies, these killer heels have what it takes to be the style of the season. They feature wedge platform, round toe, and allover print."
These shoes are so fun, I'm in love with them! they're far more practical and probably easier to walk in. The print is what makes them so fun and quirky!

Be Bold...With Stripes!

This Spring/Summer it's all about the stripes! Stripes tend to be done in a nautical style, and I don't know about anyone else, but I'm bored of being a sailor! So I've found some other great stripey items, that don't remind me of a sailor! Now you can be on trend and without an "Ahoy!" anywhere near. So this look is more of a beach style because I'm ever hopeful of some sunshine.

Mothers Day

I somewhat enjoy Mother's Day because it's the one day I can buy my mother a present without her saying "Oh, you shouldn't have", technically mummy yes I should have this time. I brought her a little vintage trinket pot with a mirror in it, and it's in a really good condition. I think it said that it was 1960's or something like that. I think the top is so beautiful and the sides are in a good condition too, they just needed a little care and some dirt removing and look all better!
The detail and time that someone took designing this is so careful, even down to the flower with the petals having little green specks in the white, I think it's just beautiful. Almost want to keep it myself.

What's everyone else brought their mother for Mother's day?

How to Purge your wardrobe for all those fabulous new buys!

So I was on Vogue's website and found this really helpful article! http://www.vogue.co.uk/news/daily/110324-anna-dello-russo-on-wardrobe-spring.aspx. It's all about spring cleaning your wardrobe. How genius!
The first thing, is to keep only a whole outfit, don't keep the simple sweaters unless you dive for them or they have an amazing fit. Only keep what you know future generations will want to see! ... I've failed already! I've done a little better this year, but every year I throw out a few pieces I never wore, and keep one's I've only worn once, and then throw them out after the following winter. Does anyone else do this, or do I just like to hoarde clothes?
I have therefore come up with a great idea for what to do with them! Here are some options if you hoarde like me!

1) customize, if it's a simple grey sweater, customize it with little beads, or spray paint on a lace pattern, something to make it more you and interesting! These are from a favourite designer of mine, Ann Sophie back, who is now designing for Top shop. You could so easily do this by just cutting into old jumpers etc and tug at them a little and they soon give this effect. Easy, Cheap, and now you've a new item!

Gok Wan on the channel 4 beauty page, has other great examples but this is my favourite one, and might give you a few ideas to help you get going!
http://www.channel4.com/4beauty/style
/budget-fashion/goks-how-to-customise-embellishment

2) Another great way is too just simply give them to charity, even if they are failed experiments someone will be grateful for them, besides, it's your good deed for the day and means you can do something naughty just to balance it out!

3) If they are a good well known brand or just really good you can try to sell them on Ebay (might be useful to sell a bundle if they're are a few H&M dresses that aren't expensive since people will go mad for a bundle) or if you've other stylish friends you can try to swap pieces with them to gain some new stuff in your wardrobe! This can be really fun to do but not if your the only stylish one as you'll end up just giving them stuff and not getting much useful in return!

Your wardrobe is limitless and doesn't have to be so expensive, so if you get bored of an item just re-invent it! After all it's what the top designers do! If people really like these posts then I might do a few customising video's for you! Have fun!
Also remember to enter the competition I'm holding to name the Vintage clothing and jewellery store! 1 free item and 10% off! Just enter below in a comment with the suggestion, your name, and an e-mail address to contact you on! It ends the 31st so hurry up and get entries in! Good luck!

xoxo!

Shopping

So I went shopping on Monday in Cambridge with my lovely boyfriend and friends and we saw Paul, I highly recommend this film! It was incredibly amusing and I loved it! I don't often like comedy's because they just mostly involve lots of swearing and blood and stupid plots that I find ridiculous, however Simon Pegg & Nick Frost are amazing and extremely good together! They are just one of those believable comedy duo's that without each other you wonder if they would be so funny! Also unlike most comedy's it isn't all straight forward it does have some nice neat little twists that may not leave you guessing but definitely make it far more interesting! This is a funny and witty comedy that hasn't stumbled by accident into the thriller section or the action section, it is Comedy and it is making it to the top of the Comedy high society! Here is the trailer as a little bit of a teaser! Trust me for a change they didn't put all the funny bits in the Trailer!
Anyway back to the Fashion side! I brought a few pieces, I must admit not all that much! But I still thought that I ought to show you, also these are a few pieces that I've brought recently and forgot to show!

These are the Camel Pleat Front Shorts from Topshop that are currently retailing at £34.00 and I swear they are worth the money, they look amazing on, the colour is beautiful, I can fit into their size 12 wonderfully, the fabric is to die for! and I can fit into the size 12... This did amaze me since I always think that Topshop has very small sizing and these were leaning to the too big side, I enjoyed the rest of my day knowing this! Women are such simple creatures really it's wonderful to be us!
I also brought the Navy peter pan collar tunic from New Look, it looks so sweet on and was less than £20.00 I did have my eye on a similar style in River Island but I couldn't honestly be that bothered about the colour and really did just want a dress in this style to wear to school so I just chose this one because I have a necklace that will go beautifully with the dress and can't wait to wear it tomorrow! The shoes were also from New Look and I just desperately needed new flats and so decided to buy them since I've noticed that there is a new trend coming in of stripes and such and so thought they would be appropriate and they are also practical which makes a change. I think my boyfriend was awfully impressed to be honest!

Anyone else had any great buys lately? Or found any really cute and different shops online, feel free to share!

Crackle Nail Polish & Other Summery Colours!

On Youtube I follow xsparkage, or something extemely similair to that, and she did a review on the China Glaze Crackle nail polish, I love the look of these! sadly I've not been paid yet and haven't been able to get my hands on any! If your in america you can go to beauty4u.com, I think it is and they have it on there for about £2.43!!! sadly they only ship in the US I think since I couldn't order any, for the rest of us the minimum is £10.00 on Ebay.
However  Opi do have a very similar thing! Although I think she mentioned in the video that they do have fewer shades, but you do only need 1 in order to see if you like the effect!
However China Glaze do seem to have since looking some amazing other colours as well!

(The neon pink one (2nd from the right) is limted edition, and the end one on the right is called Burgundy and is another Barry M one) I really wanted these ones, since bright colours are in, I'd rather wear them on my nails than my clothing, so here are a few great summer ones! I recommend Barry M for bright colours, I wear a lot of their nail polishes however find that they do chip easily however I have this issue with almost every one I have and think it's that I don't let them dry properly because I'm too impatient and because I buy cheap ones, but if you aren't expecting to wear it too much then Barry M is possibly the way to go since they retail for less than £5.00 each and often have offers like 2 for £5.00 on in Boots.(http://www.barrym.com/)
If you want a cheap alternative for the china glaze crackle affect Barry M do also it appears on there website do their own version, since starting this Article I've discovered lots of brands do the crackle effect! therefore I'd hunt around for a nice colour rather than only sticking to a brand. However I must admit that I think personally the Barry M version looks less professional and more like you just scratched some nail polish off, however it may just be the colour.
These nail polishes will look really great when highly contrasted i.e. white and black, or I think when 2 colours are combined i.e. a peachy colour and a lemon yellow! very summery!

Do you know a great nail polish brand? Or have any special tips for making your nail polish stay on longer? then please tell us in the comments! Thank you!

xoxo!
